I can’t wait to hear how well these kids do in 2nd! Today we reviewed open/closed syllables, and the sight words: because, friend, been, into. They played sight word and critical thinking games, and read a passage and answered reading comprehension questions. The kids reviewed 1st math skills and we ended with reading the story, “The Spotless Giraffe” by Peter Millett.

Today was our last class for these soon to be kindergartners, and I’m going to miss all these kiddos. I can’t wait to hear how well they do in K! Today we reviewed QU, V and Z, and the sight words: what, have. The kids played games to practice identifying letter names and sounds as well. In math, we practiced using ten frames. We ended the session by reading “KINDERGARTEN” by Vera Ahiyya and talking about all the things we’re excited for in Kindergarten!

Kindergarten cuties! The letters we reviewed today were J, Y, and X and the sight words were: you, was. The kiddos practiced writing these letters and words and listened to songs. They played a letter identification games and a CVC word game. In math we continued to practice simple addition. We ended with reading the book “How This Book Got Red” by Margaret Chiu Greanias.
