He’s sitting there crying and no one did or said anything to trigger him.

The school says he’s crying because he doesn’t want to do the work.

They say his pacing is disruptive and he elopes to avoid directions.

BUT my son has told me WHY he leaves.

$5 and $10 Tuesday open play at JASE 💛🧡💙

Need a simple Tuesday morning plan for your child?

Every Tuesday at 10 am, we release 20 open play tickets to the JASE list first.

The first 10 tickets are $5. The next 10 are $10. After those 20 are claimed, they are gone.

Jasen and his therapist drove around the parking lot for a week.

The doctor ordered bloodwork at the beginning of summer.
Barbara, his BCBA promised she was going to prep him and have him do the bloodwork by the end of summer.
Every session for one month Jasen and his RBT watched a 2 minute videos on YouTube of someone getting their blood drawn.
They simulate the process with a rubber band and a toy needle.
The second month Barbara took Jasen to the parking lot of the pediatrician’s office.
They sat in the car as she explained the process to him.
For a week she drove around the parking lot with him.
The final week of summer they sat in the waiting room and then in the room where he would get his blood drawn.
On Friday before Jasen went back to school Jasen had his blood drawn for the first time since he was four years old.
No tears. No struggle.
You don't break a fear by pushing harder. You break it with consistent behavioral strategies.
