What does fellowship surgical training look like? FIU/Baptist Health Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Fellow Dr. Tyler Goodwin shares his experience training on complex deformity-correction cases—guided by faculty experts like Dr. Frantz Lerebours of Baptist Health Orthopedic Care.

These cases go beyond routine sports medicine, giving fellows hands-on experience with advanced surgical planning for alignment issues like bow-legged and knock-kneed deformities. Using patient-specific guides and implants, fellows learn techniques aimed at improving alignment, preserving the joint, and delaying knee replacement.
