The Mississippi Department of Education (MDE) has released the 2025-26 Chronic Absenteeism Report. Chronic absenteeism is defined as missing 10% or more of the school year (equivalent to 18 days) for any reason, which includes excused and unexcused absences and suspensions.

Bell Academy is ranked in the top 10 out of all public schools in MS for having the lowest chronic absenteeism rate. Let’s work hard to continue to receive this achievement!

Today we celebrated our Bell Academy staff with a little Dolly Day and a Dolly Cart full of snacks! 💕🍿🍫

Every morning, our staff tumbles outta bed and stumbles to school, ready to fill our Jaguars’ cups with ambition, encouragement, knowledge, and love. 💙

They work 9 to 5… and then some! From lesson plans to meetings, emails to hallway duty, and everything in between, our staff gives their all to our Jaguars every single day.

They may sometimes ask, “Jolene, is it Friday yet?” 😂 But somehow, they keep smiling and keep going!

Our teachers give our Jaguars a “Coat of Many Colors”—a little bit of patience, a whole lot of love, and everything they need to grow. 💕

And just like Dolly says, “Here You Come Again”… because our staff shows up day after day, ready to do it all over again!

We hope our Dolly Cart brought a little “9 to 5” joy to the people who work so hard for our Jaguars!

We are “Islands in the Stream”—working together, supporting one another, and making Bell Academy a special place to be.

💕 Thank you for being the heart of Bell Academy! 💕
🎶 9 to 5… what a way to make a livin’! 🎶

gathering books from the fair. (They make great teacher gifts, too!) You can also start your search for popular books, games, and more right now before joining us in person for the Campfire Magic Book Fair.

Since 2019, we’ve donated over 500,000 books to underfunded schools, women & children’s care centers, and nonprofits.
