Just 20 percent of participants in National Interscholastic Cycling Association mountain biking are girls. But by 2023, the middle- and high-school program is gunning for girls to make up more than one-third of its bikers.

What a wonderful day for our Garrison Girls at the first race of the season! Our girls showed
a lot of grit on the course! Congratulations to Madison Qualls and Catherine Erwin on their first mountain biking race! Thank you Jonathan Posner and Fred Powell and the rest of the Maryland Interscholastic Cycling league staff for all your hard work to make this day special for our kids!

Our Garrison girls have rocked the first 3 practices. Trail rides at Little Gunpowder and Schaeffer Farm and a skills practice on campus.
we are excited for the first race Sept 8th! Go GFS Grizzlies! Shout out to Maryland League coaches Diana Allen Wendy Gibson Traci Davis and George Shriver for helping coach our girls!
