With the rain and wind yesterday, BOATCAMPers spent the day at the farm in Boxford playing games, sneaking and stalking in the food forest, hiking in the woods and ending the day with a campfire and s'mores!

BOATCAMP children enjoyed a day of fast paced mackerel fishing, with a surprise of occasional cod that were carefully released.

Calling all Indigenous community members! We welcome you to join Ohketeau's fishing trip aboard the F/V Erica Lee in August. Contact Ohketeau for details and registration information.

🐟 Fishing Trip! 🐟

This trip is generously sponsored by our friends at Merrohawke Nature School and led by Captain Rob Yeomans!

Captain Rob has been leading Merrohawke's youth BOAT Camp as part of their summer programming for many years. He knows the local waters exceptionally well, and both he and his vessel are fully licensed and compliant with all safety regulations required to operate chartered trips.

This outing is another wonderful opportunity for our community members to connect with our partners at Merrohawke Nature School, learn more about their programs, and experience the beauty of the North Shore from the water. And best of all—you'll get to take home what you catch for dinner!

This trip is best suited for adults, though children ages 10 and older are welcome to attend with a parent or legal guardian. Children may not participate without a supervising adult.

We'll spend the morning fishing the coastal waters of Essex County while learning about local fish and other marine life that can be sustainably harvested, along with the best bait, tackle, and fishing techniques to use. Snacks, beverages, and a light lunch will be provided.
