As part of our commitment to helping others, we are holding a “Share the Love” campaign to support The Movement Family, a grassroots organization based in Lawrence that works year-round to care for individuals experiencing homelessness.
❤️Village School is collecting new socks, hats, and mittens for The Movement Family. Items should be sent in with your child no later than February 9th.❤️
During the week of February 9th, they will package the donated items from their classroom to be sent directly to TMF for distribution. This is a meaningful way for our students to participate in giving back and to understand the importance of kindness and community care.
👆🏻In addition to our Village School “Share the Love” items, TMF is always in need of warm clothing, blankets, boots, shoes, sweaters, pants, tents, camping gear, and other cold-weather essentials. Beauty and hygiene products are also greatly appreciated. TMF occasionally hosts “beauty nights,” providing lotion, skincare, and makeup to women experiencing homelessness—small gestures that can make a powerful difference in helping someone feel cared for and seen.
If you’d like to learn more about their work, The Movement Family can be found on Facebook, where they regularly share the impact they are making in the community.
Thank you for your generosity and continued support of our wider community and in helping us teach our students the value of compassion and helping others.❤️
