K-8 Summer Program to help kids return to school in the fall well-prepared to excel!

Less than a month left in the school year! If your K-8 child has struggled in school this year, or you are worried about their academic progress, you are NOT alone! Many kids are ‘playing catch-up’ from school closures and virtual learning. We’ve seen it here when we get new students, and our local teachers and families are telling us their students are frustrated and struggling with both academic skills and self-confidence.

But you can help your child boost their skills over the summer! We can send them back to school next fall prepared for the next grade and more confident in their abilities!

Our summer “small group” tutoring begins the week of May 29-June 2. In just one hour a week, our experienced and certified teachers can address gaps in learning, help your child build confidence, and even accelerate their learning by pre-teaching skills your child will see when they return to school in the fall. All sessions have an experienced classroom teacher working with no more than four students, teaching them the skills critical to classroom success.

There are 10 weeks of summer vacation. Bring your child to us once a week this summer. You can feel confident knowing they will return to school well prepared for the next grade! You can do all 10 weeks of summer “small group” tutoring (a one-hour tutoring session each week, for 10 weeks) for the affordable price of $480. And we can adjust that price if you need to skip a few weeks for summer camps or vacations.

Taking an ACT in September or October? ACT has added test dates and are working through their backlog of students who had tests cancelled in the spring/summer.

Our ACT prep classes begin August 15 for students taking any test in Sept. Classes begin on Sept 12 for students taking any October test.

These prep classes are small-group, held at our office on Campbell Lane, and reduced capacity to meet the KY "Healthy at Work" requirements. Space is limited to only 6 students in a class (down from our normal limit of 20 when we have the classes in schools).

We plan on returning classes to our local high schools once they have an opportunity to get settled into the unfamiliar routine of the new school year.

An updated list of cancelled ACT testing locations for the July 18 test is available here: https://www.act.org/content/act/en/products-and-services/the-act/test-day/rescheduled-test-centers.html

If your location isn't listed, continue to check the list frequently! Many testing centers cancelled their June exam just a few days before it was scheduled. ACT updates this list as they receive more informaiton from each location.

Find out if your ACT test center was rescheduled due to bad weather or unforeseen circumstances.

Good luck to everyone taking the ACT this Saturday, Feb 8! We're looking forward to hearing your high scores!

If you are taking the March test at school (all juniors are!), or the April national test date, we have two prep classes left for you:

1. ACT Strategies: overview of all 4 subjects. It meets on Saturday, March 7th from 8 a.m.-Noon.

2. Small-group ACT math class: Limited to only eight students, this small group class is designed for students who struggle with math on the ACT, those who have scored (or expect to score) a 25 or below, or students who just need a good math refresher. It's a two-session class that meets from 9 a.m.-11 a.m. on February 22 and 29.

Taking the February 8 ACT? Last day to register without the late fee is this Friday, January 10th!

High school students, not sure what you're missing on the ACT? Did you know you can get your questions and answers sent back to you? You only get a score report on most test dates, but if you take the upcoming December 14th ACT you can order the optional "test information release."

A few weeks after your December scores are posted, ACT will mail you a copy of your graded answer sheet and a test booklet, so you can see what you're missing. They only offer this option on three of the seven national test dates each year, and it's not available if you take a state or local test at your school.

If you aren't getting the score you want, and aren't sure what you are missing, then we strongly suggest you consider taking the December ACT and adding the optional "test information release." It's extremely helpful when you can see exactly what you are missing!

Important dates:
1. Next ACT test date: December 14
2. Last day to register without late fee: Friday, November 8th.
3. Our upcoming ACT prep classes: Nov 9, 16, 23 and Dec 7

Back to school time! Here are important dates for high school students and their families:

4. Our next round of ACT Prep classes: August 17 - September 7 (four Saturdays in a row).
