The Center for Archival Collections (CAC) is an archives and manuscripts repository within the University Libraries at Bowling Green State University.

The Center for Archival Collections (CAC) at Bowling Green State University is made up of 5 main collections: the University Archives, the Northwestern Ohio manuscripts collection, Rare Books and Special Collections, the National Student Affairs Archives, and the Historical Collection of the Great Lakes.

We promised to share the winners of our Caption Contest from the Check Us Out Event last Friday and here they are. First place went to Aiden W. The staff was overwhelmed by the number of hilarious captions, so here are the top three and several honorable mentions. Thank you to all of the students who stopped in and contributed!

We had a great time at the Library's Check Us Out Event today! Thank you to all of the students who stopped by the 5th floor to create captions for historical photos, work on puzzles, and mark their home at BGSU. Stay tuned, we'll post some of our favorite captions next week!

In celebration of the 250th anniversary of our nation's founding, the Center for Archival Collections is highlighting the role Northwest Ohio played in America's manufacturing legacy. Learn how the DeVilbiss Company revolutionized paint application, how the Tiffin Glass Company set the standard for fine crystal, how Lima Locomotive Works became a major manufacturer of steam locomotives, and how the Buckeye Traction Ditcher Company turned waterlogged soil into fertile farmland the world over.

The Black Swamp Folklife Festival was held at BGSU May 21-23, 1976. The festival showcased the history, culture, and arts of northwest Ohio and celebrated the Bicentennial. Do you remember the Folklife Festival?
