Lessons with Sarah Private music lessons in voice, ukulele, beginning guitar, and beginning piano for ages 6 and up! She enjoys teaching voice, piano, guitar, and ukulele.

Sarah Houk is a singer/songwriter and music teacher located in South Central Kentucky. She has been teaching/coaching students for over 10 years with her unique approach. She believes in teaching students what they want to learn in a healthy and fun way. She has also worked with
students on songwriting and audition prep. Her unique life experiences make her a caring and compassionate instructor w

really shines while teaching students to love themselves and music—one note at a time. Sarah teaches most of her students at South Central Music & Arts Academy located at
Hillvue Heights Church in Bowling Green, KY. She also teaches students via Zoom. Her student roster includes over 30 amazing students of all ages. She even teaches
preschoolers in her music and movement class called Groovy Kids. Growing up near Nashville, TN, Sarah developed a love for country music but also studied
classical music while attending college. Her late grandmother was her biggest musical
influence helping her learn to play the piano by ear and also becoming her biggest fan. Before graduating high school, Sarah studied voice for 2 years under Donna Stokes-Rogers at Belmont Academy in Nashville, TN. After graduating high school, she received a performance scholarship in 2004 to attend Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, TN. While in college, Sarah performed in the audition only Chamber Singers. She studied voice and vocal pedagogy with Dr. Sharon Mabry, studying voice for a total of 5 years during her college career. As a musician, Sarah has performed all across Kentucky at The Grove,
The Club at Olde Stone, Kentucky Grand Hotel, Lost River Pizza, The Dive, 440 Main,
National Corvette Museum, and Hopkinsville Brewery. One of the highlights of her career was being asked to perform her original music at
Belcourt Taps in Nashville, TN. She has also sung The National Anthem for the
prestigious Kentucky Super Preps Award Ceremony. Another exciting career highlight
would be finding one of her YouTube shorts that received over 20,000 views. In 2019, she released her debut single “The Way You Looked.” It is available on
iTunes/Apple Music/and Spotify. Sarah received her BS in Music with a vocal emphasis from Austin Peay State University
and her Master of Arts in Teaching Music P-12 from University of the Cumberlands. She is currently working on an online video course and a new single.
