Quiz Bowl: Bowling Green High School

In the EMO Conference tournament last night, BG went 1-1 in round robin including a bye, falling to Montgomery County 270-170, but beating Louisiana 430-120. BG then advanced to the conference semifinals where they fell to #1 seed Elsberry 340-190. Senior Night is next Tuesday, March 18th with Districts at Hallsville on Saturday, April 12th. Bowling Green finishes the EMO regular season 8-5. Thanks for all of the support this year!

Our home meet scheduled for tonight has been rescheduled for Wednesday, February 26th at 4:30 pm.

After meets last week at Elsberry where BG went 1-1 (win vs. Wellsville, loss vs. Elsberry) and 1-1 at Louisiana (win vs. Louisiana, loss vs. Clopton), BG swept tonight with wins against Mark Twain (280-70), Silex (310-40), and North Callaway (250-130). BG is now 5-2 and has their last home meet February 18th at home vs. Louisiana, Wellsville, and Wright City. Hope to see family and friends come out to support in two weeks!

After several rescheduled meets, Bowling Green kicks off its quiz bowl season tomorrow at Elsberry at 4:30 pm against Elsberry and Wellsville. Wednesday is another rescheduled meet that will be at Louisiana vs. Louisiana and Clopton also at 4:30.

The first meet of the 2025 Quiz Bowl season will be January 8th at Ellsberry vs. Elsberry and Wellsville and will start at 4:30 pm. The meet should include varsity and jv matches.

Thank you to everyone who came out to support our seniors last night as well as participate in teacher trivia. Due to scheduling conflicts with districts, this concludes our 2024 season. Thanks so much to everyone for all of the support this season.

Senior Parents and Family: Senior Night is at 6:30 tomorrow night! Prior to that we are having teacher trivia with the quiz bowl team at 5:30 so feel free to come a little early.

Bowling Green wrapped up their EMO conference season tonight with hosting the conference tournament for the first time in 11 years. The Bobcats went 1-2, but were competitive in all 3 games beating Louisiana and losing close games to Van-Far and Mark Twain. Thanks to all who came out and supported our team this year. BG will compete one more time this season on April 13 for Districts at Hallsville. Senior Night will be Wednesday, March 20th in the BGHS cafeteria at 6:30 pm. Can’t wait to honor our six seniors!

In Bowling Green’s second conference meet of the season, the Bobcats went 1-1, beating Mark Twain 150-100 while falling to Van-Far 230-100. The Bobcats will next be in action February 20th against Louisiana, Wellsville, and Wright City at home at 4:30 pm in their only regular season home meet. Come out and support your Bowling Green Bobcats!

Bowling Green Quiz Bowl went 4-16 against stiff competition in Manchester. BG finished with wins over Sullivan, Orchard Farm, Hannibal, and Iberia. Quiz Bowl will begin EMO conference competition Thursday against Clopton and Louisiana at Louisiana.
