Hunt w/friends. This page is kept up in its memory for all of its loyal fans to enjoy. The WKU Chess Club is the premiere
college and community chess fellowship
in Kentucky. Located in Bowling Green,
Kentucky, our goal is to incorporate chess
into the culture of the University, the
community, and the scholastic districts
WKU services, improving the intellectual
drive and capacity of its students.

We
strive to challenge a new generation of
Kentucky chess players from kindergarten
to college to adult by teaching and
improving the quality of chess played
throughout the Commonwealth. What We Do
Encourage all school systems in WKU’s
service region to adopt chess clubs as an
after school program. Assist districts and higher education in
meeting KY Senate Bill I College and Career
Readiness mandate in the following 4 ways
using the methodological framework of chess
as pedagogy for betterment of Kentucky
learners:
1. Increase workforce readiness
2. Enhance college preparedness
3. Strengthen critical thinking skills
4. Improve ethical and social behavior
Provide events, training, and sport for those
individuals who wish to participate. Encourage community involvement, form
sustainable infrastructure, and enhance
new and existing relationships through
participation in chess programs. WKU MasterMind Chess Club annually
awards one of the top scholarship
packages in the nation. The annual WKU
MasterMind Open awards the top 3 finishers in the High School (k-12) Section:

1st place -- Full tuition scholarship
2nd place -- $2,500 towards room/board
3rd place -- $500 book scholarship

Scholarships total approximately $23,000/
year. Recipients must be accepted to WKU
with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and participate
in WKU MasterMind Chess Club activities. All scholarships are renewable annually
provided students maintain GPA and
participation requirements.

Awesome endgame study. I was black. White blundered here. Unfortunately, in the game I made the wrong move. Black is in the winning position because I placed all my pawns on white squares. The correct move, and Black goes on to win. The wrong move, like I made in this position, leads to a loss. What is Black's winning move and plan?

Y'all! Check out my timer!!! Then look at the disparity between my opponent's timer and mine. TIME CHEATERS NEVER PROSPER. Well, OK. They prosper a lot online. But NOT this time! .1 sec! MATE! HAHAHAHA 😆 😂 😆. Chess Rocks! Truly, the game of kings. NOTE: ant time, in a 2 min game, there is a 30-sec or more gap between my timer and my opponent's timer, I suspect there are hacking the timer somehow. Outcomes like this also tip my suspicion in that direction. Let me know what you think in comments below.
