Community Learning Centers STARS Our daily before / after school & Summer STARS programs provide quality enrichment and extended learning opportunities to elementary students in Wood County!

Currently located in North Baltimore, BG, Eastwood, Rossford, & Lake! The Community Learning Centers of Wood County Educational Service Center provide quality enrichment and extended learning activities for elementary children - grades kindergarten through sixth. Our daily Before-school, After-school, and Summer STARS program meets the care and supervision needs of parents during out-of-school hours while engaging children in fun learning experiences that complement their school-day instruction. History
In 2001, after witnessing an overwhelming community need, the Community Learning Centers were created to provide children a safe and fun before/after school extended learning environment. Since then, through the support of the Wood County Educational Service Center, the 21st Century Community Learning Center program, and the United Way, this amazing program has expanded to serve thousands of kids a year, at 5 districts, at 7sites, year-round, throughout Wood County! What We Do
Our services provide children with homework assistance, breakfast/snack, physical activities, fun extended learning opportunities, and a safe place to have fun outside the school day. Beyond serving these needs, we also provide kids a place to go to receive a smile, hug, and the support they need every time they walk in our door! Our fees are based on a sliding fee scale, with most families eligible for a deduction, and many families paying as low as 10 cents an hour! How Do We Do It
We provide multiple programs that support student growth and learning, including STARS, Homework Clubs, Tiger Academy, Canine Crew, Summer Academy, Summer STARS, and much much more! Our students have the best in academic intervention available, including access to our evidence-based literacy and math computer intervention program SuccessMaker, personalized tutoring and district collaboration, and our positive youth development programming, SPOT. A huge THANK YOU to Downtown BG Farmers' Market - WLI -Bowling Green, Ohio for inviting CLC STARS to join the Farmers’ Market Wednesday night! 🌱🥕🍅

Our students worked hard this summer growing fresh produce and herbs through our AgriCare (ACRES) curriculum, and we were so excited to share their harvest with the community! 💚 The community garden was purchased and helped planned by the Wood County Health Department at Crim and North Baltimore Powell Elementary Schools! With help from Crim and Powell Elementary, the Wood County Health Department, and Meta , we grew fresh veggies and herbs all summer long!

Our CLC STARS tent was full of fun! Visitors could:
🌿 Take home FREE fresh produce & herbs grown by our students
🎨 Paint pots & veggie picture frames
🎯 Play games and win prizes
🎁 Grab some CLC STARS goodies

And one lucky winner went home with a special Family Garden Basket!

We had such a great evening connecting with families and showing off what our students have been growing and learning all summer long. Thank you to everyone who stopped by to see us! 💚⭐

Join us tomorrow from 4-7 pm at the Bowling Green Farmers Market!! CLC will have tables set up for kiddos to design their own picture frame, paint their own pot, and plant seeds! You can also pick free fresh veggies and herbs from our gardens this summer and play a fun "golden carrot" game to pick a prize from our three levels. Any CLC student who comes will be entered into our raffle basket for a chance to earn a garden kit, a stepping stone DIY, and a build-your-own birdhouse. Come join the fun!
