The faculty in the political science department represent a variety of theoretical and methodological approaches, and all share a commitment to the pursuit of knowledge through both research and teaching. The Department of Political Science is strongly committed to undergraduate and graduate education in government and politics that supports the scholarship of discovery, teaching, integration and

application. The department provides students with the intellectual foundation for many career pursuits, including work in the public, private, and non-profit sectors; law, education, and global and local politics. We offer both an undergraduate major and minor in political science, and an undergraduate program in fire administration. At the graduate level we offer a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree and a dual Masters degree in Political Science and German.

Calling all BGSU Model UN alumni!

BGSU has one of the longest track records among universities participating at the annual National Model United Nations in NYC. We need the help of former NMUN delegation members to assist with the collection of visual history and personal accounts of how the NMUN experience has shaped their lives. The following call was recently sent out by the NMUN Secretariat:

"National Model United Nations (NMUN) will be celebrating their 100th anniversary in 2027 (they started as a Model League of Nations and were the first to simulate the UN). They're trying to pull together a variety of memories, photos, and testimonials on what the NMUN experience has meant to participants. NMUN already has a lot of photos from 2005-present, but if you or any of your former colleagues have photos prior to 2005, they would love to get copies. For example, did your delegation attend in 2002, after the World Trade Center attack? Were you around when the conference hotel was evacuated due to a fire in 1981? Were you involved when Home Government was started? How did the COVID cancellation impact your delegation? Have you been around to experience any changes in technology? What were these things like, what were the timeframes, do you have any photos? They're also hoping some former delegates would be willing to make a short video or write a few words about how NMUN has impacted their lives.
