My high school Health class got CPR/AED certified today, plus they learned the Heimlich maneuver. I’m thankful the city fire department did this for us fee free. Onto more fun learning in the Injury Prevention unit!

It took a literal team to get the Wildfire Unit done in Natural Disasters. Thanks to for connecting our students to the real thing, for acting as Press with the “fire crew” today, my boss for letting us use a bunch of walkie talkies, and for dealing with me taking anything and everything we have at home😜
The students completed a wildfire simulation acting as incident command, strike team, community members, and the media. Tomorrow we have a formal debrief to highlight how information flows and how this links to real situations🔥🔥🔥
Pictures from today, previous labs to build knowledge, and real life 📷

Last class before break. Natural History of New Hampshire and Physical Education teamed up to explore, “Does snowpack vary in open areas versus forested?” and prepping to test, “What are the insulative properties of snow?” ❄️
It was also everyone’s first time learning to snowshoe!

Dragon Egg Engineering Challenge🥚
Oh my goodness, teaching in person and remote simultaneously gives us the chance to show that design teams and prototype testers are often in different places. The team without an in-building tester also enjoyed bossing me around 🥽
Students got the engineering challenge. Facilitating all of this is my challenge!!👩‍💻
