Missouri National Guard's 135th Army Band Concert - July 2, 2024
The Missouri National Guard’s 135th Army Band invites you to celebrate the service of Veterans, current and past Service Members, military families, and your community members in a free summer concert featuring their Concert Band and Jazz Band in the auditorium of Bowling Green High School on July 2, 2024, at 6:00 pm.
The 135th Army Band is under the Command of Chief Warrant Officer 2 Keith Moyer and First Sergeant Charles Bart. The Citizen-Soldiers of the 135th Army Band represent a diverse group of individuals who proudly serve our great Nation and State. They are college students, engineers, teachers, music performers, pilots, business professionals, and your neighbors. As Soldiers of the Missouri Army National Guard, they stand ready to answer the call and to represent all those who have and will wear the uniform proudly. The 135th Army Band has performed for civic and military events both nationally and internationally, including concerts in Hawaii, Alaska, Germany, France, and all corners of Missouri, and is honored to include a stop in Bowling Green and Troy, MO, on its summer concert tour. This group is back by popular demand after an arousing performance last summer at the Bowling Green bicentennial celebration.

BGR-1 Family,
It is with profound grief and sadness that I write to share some difficult news with our school community. Last night, a member of our senior class passed away, and many are struggling through this unfortunate loss. I know our community is hurting and overwhelmed by this news. Our main focus at this point is about support as we take care of the families, our students, staff and all who are impacted by this loss. Our teachers, counselors and administrators will be working diligently to meet the needs of individual students and staff members.
Graduation Ceremonies previously scheduled for tonight, Friday, May the 17th have been postposed to tomorrow, Saturday, May the 18th at 7 p.m. in the BGHS Gym. Additional graduation practice scheduled for this morning has been cancelled. Every person processes grief differently and has different needs in the wake of a tragedy. For so many students and staff members, school is a safe place where we find community. Grief counselors advise schools to keep a normal routine as much as possible as that routine provides solace for large numbers of people. For those students and staff, we will have additional counselors from neighboring districts here to help this morning. This is a community that comes together to support those that are hurting. We are thankful for our BG Family.
Dr. Frederickson
Superintendent
Don't forget there will be free physicals at BGHS on May 23rd and 30th. We have a lot of student/athletes that will need to complete a new physical before summer contact days start.
BGMS - Parents coming to awards today will need to come thru the middle school office . 6th grade awards are at 11:00 am, 7th grade at 11:30 am and 8th are at 8:30 am. Please bring ID with you.
We look forward to seeing everyone at 8th grade promotion tonight. Students should arrive by 5:30 and report to the HS auditorium. The event will be in the HS gym promptly at 6:00. Parents, it may be best if you park in the HS parking lot since those doors are closest and nobody will be manning the MS office at that time.
