We are hosting a great Lecture series next week Oct 16-19. "Seeking Peace in This Nuclear Age". All lecturers are in the BGSU student union 7:30-9pm.
Monday: Dr Thomas Snitch, US State Dept Analyst on North Korea's nuclear program.
Tuesday: Journalist and historian Gwynne Dyer, "Don't Panic: Current threats to peace"
Wednesday: Two survivors of Hiroshima, Ms. Keilholz Ogura and Ms. Setsuko Thurlow, tell of their personal experiences and give their perspectives on how to create peace today.
Everything is free and open to the public.

National Student Campaign Against Hunger and Homelessness Activist Internships

Meet new people, get involved in your community, learn important skills, and make a difference on the issues that matter. Interns take on a leadership role within a campaign, and in many cases are able to receive course credit for their work. We are now accepting applications for our spring 7 week internship program. Bowling Green State University students will organize with students across the nation on our Spring 2013 campaign, the Hunger Cleanup, and learn how to make a difference on poverty issues in their community. You'll learn how to recruit a team, plan an event, and build grassroots support for the campaign, as well as learning how to educate your peers on the issue. The Rotary Peace Centers of The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International is currently recruiting for applicants for the 2014 Rotary Peace Fellowship. Applications are due 1 July 2013.

The fellowship provides academic and practical training to prepare scholars for leadership roles in solving conflicts around the world. Up to 100 fellows are selected every year in a globally competitive process based on personal, academic, and professional achievements. Fellows earn a master’s-level degree or a professional development certificate in peace and conflict studies at one of six Rotary Peace Centers at leading universities in Australia, England, Japan, the United States, Sweden and Thailand.
