❣️ GRAD Student Spotlight: From English to Speech-Language Pathology! ❣️

Meet a WKU English alum who is taking their passion for language and communication into a new field! 📖 After studying English and TESOL, Katie Rice discovered a passion for speech-language pathology and is now beginning graduate studies to pursue a career helping individuals overcome communication barriers. ✨

Their experiences teaching English to adult immigrants and refugees, along with student research, have helped prepare them for this next chapter. 🗣️ Katie's hope is to make speech-language pathology resources more accessible to adult English language learners. 🌐

💬 Katie's advice to students considering graduate school is, "Set long-term goals, stay curious, be open-minded, and embrace opportunities to learn and grow." 💡

Join fellow writers for a welcoming, student-led space to write, share, workshop, get inspired, and connect with other creative people. And you don’t have to be a Creative Writing or English major to join 🤗 ALL majors are welcome!
