Veterans Upward Bound of South Central Kentucky We’re a team of veterans and civilians helping fellow vets turn their benefits into a clear path forward—college, training, and real opportunities.

As a federally-funded TRIO program, our support is 100% FREE and built around what actually works for you!! We are funded by the U.S. Department of Education to help U.S. military veterans enter into and succeed in postsecondary school. Our offices are located on the lower end of the WKU campus, in Jones-Jaggers Hall Room 127. Visitors can obtain a temporary parking pass in the office. All service

🇺🇸 R.E.D. FRIDAY — REMEMBER EVERYONE DEPLOYED 🇺🇸

It’s easy to get caught up in our Friday routines—work, school, family, and everything else life brings.

But somewhere tonight, a service member may be standing watch, working a long shift, or simply wishing they could be home with the people they love.

That’s why we wear red.

❤️ Remember Everyone Deployed.

From one veteran to another, we know that service doesn’t stop just because you’re miles away from home. And the sacrifice doesn’t belong to the service member alone—it belongs to their families, too.

So today, take a moment.

Remember the ones currently deployed.
Remember their families waiting at home.
Remember the ones who stood watch before them.

And most importantly, let them know they are not forgotten.

🎓A Day Worth Celebrating

Last Saturday, VUB had the privilege of celebrating an incredible group of Veterans Upward Bound participants and supporting the academic journeys they are pursuing.

To our scholarship recipients—congratulations! These scholarships are a reflection of the hard work, dedication, and commitment you've put into building your future. We couldn't be more proud of you.

We also want to extend our heartfelt thanks to all of our sponsors. Your generosity makes opportunities like these possible, and your investment in our veterans has a meaningful impact that reaches far beyond this one day.

And to our participants and their families, friends, and loved ones who joined us—thank you for allowing us to celebrate this accomplishment with you. Having the people who support you along the way makes these moments even more special.

As another school year gets underway, many students are settling into new schedules, new classes, and new routines. For those starting college this Monday, we wish you a successful and rewarding year ahead! 🎓

Take the time to set your goals, stay focused, and make the most of the opportunities in front of you. And remember—success isn't always about getting everything right the first time. Keep moving forward, ask for help when you need it, and don't be afraid to take the next step.

But as we get busy with our own lives, let's also take a moment today to remember those who can't be home.
