This isn’t your average picnic table...

When businesses + community members join forces, great things can happen 💪.

The owners of Naslada Bistro and Eden Fashion Boutique collaborated to renovate a largely underutilized green space behind Eden so that Naslada had a space for outdoor dining—especially as they reopen after closing for COVID-19. The City of Bowling Green, Ohio has graciously offered picnic tables to businesses who might need an outdoor dining option, but unfortunately they were all accounted before Naslada could request some.

And this is where our community really shines 🌞. Kelly Wicks of Grounds For Thought heard about the picnic table problem and put out a request to see if community members had any they might not be using. One thing led to another, and within hours, residents had purchased 6 brand new picnic tables to fill the new green space!

Work continues on this new space in — a mural is scheduled to begin the 2nd week of June and landscaping is underway. Next up, string lights for a quaint little space you’ll never want to leave.

As our community begins to open back up, remember to be patient and give yourself extra time to:
✨Get into your place of work. You might need to get your temperature taken or wait in line to use the doors/elevator.
✨Shop at a local merchant. Sales associates are having to take extra precautions and add to their processes. It’s going to slow things down a bit.
✨Complete a transaction at the bank….again, same as above. More stopping to sanitize or inform people of new procedures. It’s going to take longer than usual.
✨Grab a to-go order from a restaurant. Their phone lines are busy and they’re also having to stop work to clean and sanitize regularly.

Just a friendly reminder to move through these next couple of months with a mindset of patience.

This is a great resource for discovering the many things to do in Northwest Ohio this summer and beyond!
