YR 3, Retreat 52: New Peer Support Members Training

We had the honor of working with 4 new peer support members from the The Bowling Green Police Department and Shively Police Department

All were trainings in our 2-Day Peer Support System: day-to-day caretaking, diffusing and debriefing.

We believe real first responder peer support takes care of their people during critical incident AND the daily stress of being a hero.

We finished day 1 with some ice baths. Just one way to take care of yourself and be engaged at home.

Proud of Chief Delaney and all he does for his people and the profession.

Congratulations to Chief Michael Delaney on his second term as president of the Kentucky Association of Chiefs of Police.

He was sworn in by Attorney General Russell Coleman during a ceremony this morning in Northern Kentucky.

We appreciate Chief Delaney’s commitment to public service not just in Bowling Green but state-wide.

It’s retreats day!!

We have incredible partners. It’s an honor to serve them.

Our officers and dispatchers face some of the most challenging moments in society and it’s important to know that they have support in working through those situations.
Today, members of our Peer Support Team attended a retreat where they discussed plans for the year and ways to improve service to department employees.
Peer Support is available to provide encouragement to BGPD members following difficult calls for service and life events.
Each member of the BGPD also attends an annual wellness retreat that is intended to improve their overall wellbeing and ability to work through stressful situations.
