Congratulations Riley! We love it when our alum find their way home!

She's the new Administrator for Bowling Green Manor at 1021 W. Poe Rd. but she's not new to the campus at Bowling Green State University!

On Tuesday's show we had the opportunity to welcome Riley Miller into the studio for her first visit since taking over at BG Manor in May. Riley is very familiar with BG and BGSU though since she earned both her Undergraduate and master's degrees as a Falcon.

As part of NAB's efforts to strengthen the HSE pipeline, graduates of NAB-Accredited Programs are also eligible for a one-time 100% fee reduction for the RCAL and HCBS examinations when pursuing the HSE qualification through the Education Pathway (available for up to five years after graduation)!

New blog post: "New HSE® Initiatives Expand Access to Licensure Portability and Support the Future Long-Term Care Workforce"

NAB has introduced two new initiatives that reduce barriers while maintaining the rigorous standards of the Health Services Executive® (HSE®) Qualification.

Eligible students in NAB-accredited HSE® programs can now complete all four required HSE examinations before graduation through the HSE Ready track. In addition, new exam fee incentives help make the HSE Qualification more accessible through both the Education and Career Pathways.

Together, these initiatives support future leaders and strengthen the long-term care workforce while advancing HSE licensure portability across 31 states.

So excited to see Hannah, one of our LTC interns along with her preceptor Jeff, who just happens to be a BGSU alum, along with Aspen from Wood Haven sharing their passion for LTC.

Jeff Orlowski, Administrator for Wood Haven Health Care, brought along Aspen Short and Hannah Miller (administrator in training from Bowling Green State University) for a visit this week.

Jeff and I talked about the latest news from the State Capital that the Ohio state legislature corrected millions in Medicaid underpayments this week, approving $875 million in quality incentive payments (QIPs) to be sent to nursing homes in the state.

Jeff said this should result in a refund of at least $800,000 for Wood Haven.

Aspen shared some great examples of the caring spirit at this not-for-profit facility plus innovative programming now being offered like "Dare to Dream" and the FREE "Movement for Living" program. We got to talk with Hannah about why she chose a career in the field.
