With a focus on two-year Institutions of Higher Education (IHEs), the Advanced Technological Education (ATE) program supports the education of technicians for the high-technology fields that drive our nation's economy. The program involves partnerships between academic institutions (grades 7-12, IHEs), industry, and economic development agencies to promote improvement in the education of science and engineering technicians.

We are excited to announce that the National Academies of Science Engineering Medicine (NASEM) is hosting "Inventorship, Entrepreneurship, and Systems for Nurturing Black People in Applied and Translation Fields: A Workshop." This event will take place on May 20th and 21st with virtual and in-person accessibility.

The goal of this workshop is to "examine the programs and environments necessary to increase the number of Black people entering and succeeding in applied, translational, and technology-focused doctoral programs and careers." This workshop will take a deep dive into the rich history of innovation and entrepreneurship in the Black community by examining how pioneering individuals and existing programs work hand in hand in cultivating the necessary skills for success in this field.
