Help Shape the Future of BISD!
Bowie ISD is looking for parents, community members, and local business leaders to join our District Improvement Team (DIT)!
As a member of the DIT, you'll have a direct impact on the future of our schools by helping set goals, develop strategies, and guide decisions that support student success.
What’s the commitment?
✅ One full-day planning session this summer
✅ Three meetings during the school year (about 1 hour each)
Your ideas, experiences, and perspective can make a difference. We value strong partnerships and want your voice at the table as we work together to make BISD even better.
Interested in serving? Please see the attached flyer for information on our first meeting this summer!
Contact Jason Childress at [email protected] for more information.
Together, we can help every student thrive and continue moving BISD forward!

🚨 Important Vaccination Information for the 2026-2027 School Year 🚨
As we prepare for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year, now is the perfect time to review your child’s immunization records.
Texas State Law requires all students to have updated vaccination records or a valid exemption on file before the first day of school.
✔️ If your child is fully vaccinated or has a current exemption (expires every two years) already on file with the school nurse — No action is needed!
❗ If your child needs vaccinations or you have not submitted updated records, we encourage you to take care of this over the summer to avoid any delays in enrollment.
📄 Not sure what vaccines are required for your child’s grade level?
Please review the attached PDF below for detailed immunization requirements by grade level.

Celebrated the end of the year at the BISD breakfast this morning! We were able to honor Adela Martinez as the BIS AND BISD elementary teacher of the year! We honored our Unsung Hero, Jeannine Yowell! We also said goodbye and happy retirement to Stephanie Crabtree! Pam Bros also won the Martin Award this year! What a day for BIS! The last picture are all the teachers, at the intermediate, that earned some extra money this year through TIA (teacher incentive allotment) for their outstanding teaching! It’s a great day to be a jackrabbit! > me

STILL a great day to be a Jackrabbit! 25 students earned the chance to slime Pickett, Childress and Wesley from our American Heart Association fundraiser early in the year. Today was payday! >me

Thank you to everyone that came out today for our BIS Field Day/Awards! We had to go with plan B (inside) and the students adjusted well and had a great time! Proud of the teachers that quickly came together to make it happen! Also, thanks to the PALS, NHS AND NJHS students that came down from BJH and BHS to help! TEAM>me
