FURLOUGH TRAVELS

We returned from a one month trip out east that involved nine churches, and quite of number of special ministry opportunities. One of the highlights was participating in a Youth Summit as one of the speakers. It was an excellent week for our family to fellowship and enjoy the camp where the event was held. Also, in another opportunity we participated in was a three-day “family days” ministry as a family, in which I got to speak on the topic of family. This was a memorable time for the kids especially! – BBTI Graduates

MINISTRY UPDATE

B’s 11 months-and-counting of filling the role of interim pastor at a local church has been a growing and stretching season as we have learned much, both culturally and linguistically. Our language continues to develop, and at the same time reveals more areas in which we need to grow. Pray for the church to find God’s man for them and pray for us to continue to faithfully serve while still growing in our new language. – BMM

GRADUATE UPDATE
THE NEXT GENERATION

The five young people we meet with weekly for Bible study (for sixteen months, now) have been growing! B was able to take four of them to a Youth Conference hosted by another independent Baptist Church in the country. The preaching and conversations led to three of them – two men and one lady – being called into either ministry or missions!

B has spent extra time with the three young men in the Bible study, teaching them how to study their Bible, prepare a sermon, and what God says about being godly men. The young ladies that attend have also had a recent opportunity to observe and begin training in teaching and leading a children’s class. Pray for their continued growth and for their lost family members to trust Christ! – BMM

GRADUATES UPDATE
MY FRIEND

Many of you are praying for my friend, R, who is of another faith. Please continue! She has not yet turned to Christ. Recently, I had the opportunity to share the Gospel with her mother. As a friend, I wanted to tell her the true way of eternal life before she returned to her country. But I had a handicap – language! She doesn’t speak the language of our country and very little English. How could I effectively communicate the Gospel? This burden was heavy on my heart, and I prayed earnestly about it. The Lord provided me a Gospel tract in her heart language and a New Testament in another language she speaks.

With those as “gifts,” I spoke the Gospel story to her in simple English as if explaining to a child. I had no idea how much she understood. Then I gave my “gifts” to her. Her face lit up with a smile, and she hugged the New Testament. With her eyes raised upward and her hand pointing toward heaven, she said, “God.” Then she pointed toward me. In broken English, she continued, “You… message (from) God… give this to me. I so happy! I read all. I want know Jesus.” Wow! Praise God! My heart rejoiced in the care of God for this woman! God wants her to know the truth and become His child. What an amazing God we have! He works in the hearts of all people regardless of language or race. Please pray for her. – BBTI Graduates

GRADUATES UPDATE
FRUIT ABOUNDS

The Lord has given us a special blessing several months ago with a man named J, who started coming to church regularly, and in one Sunday School class as I was teaching in Acts 13 about the conversion of Sergius Paulus, J raised his hand and said, “I feel like the sinner in this story!” He was very much under conviction of the Holy Spirit, and after the main service, he and I went through the Gospel together, and he professed faith in Christ. It has been a joy watching him grow, as he has been very diligent to be in God’s Word and learn. Please pray for his continued growth. – MCP

BBTI note – what an incredible testimony! The Word of God is alive and changes hearts and lives.

PROGRESS

We rejoice that the compete R Bible is now with the printers, after 18 years of labor and trials. The New Testament was distributed in 2018, and now the entire Bible is ready. Praise the Lord! – MCP

GRADUATE UPDATE
FIFA EVANGELISM

We had a great time of Gospel tract distribution among the massive crowds who attended the public watch parties around us. Our family helped organize and promote an evangelistic outreach at some of these watch parties. Many of the church members from HBC came, and we handed out hundreds of Gospel tracts. The church passed out FIFA-themed Romans at one of the semi-finals watch parties. We appreciate your prayers than many souls will come to church and accept Christ after having received literature from this outreach. – TKS

GRADUATE UPDATE
ENGLISH CLASSES

We concluded the first semester of this year’s English classes the end of June. One highlight of the semester was when one morning a retired man stayed after class for conversation. Since I didn’t have a midday class, we discussed the Gospel for a couple of hours. We opened the Scriptures and filled a marker board with explanations about sin, good works, Christ, and faith. A and L in an evening class also had some great questions about faith and the Gospel! We pray that they will accept Christ. – TKS
