EXCITING NEWS

I recently spoke with a pastor from a large Baptist church that has a printing ministry, Bearing Precious Seed. He said they would like to print our John-Romans booklet and later our New Testament! Praise the Lord!

Please continue to pray for this Bible translation project:
• That W will agree to continue working with us as least one day per week. We need him to back translate John and review the back-translation of Romans.
• The E and R will continue working on their review of the front-translation. We have remaining the last 2 chapters of Luke and then Acts, Hebrews, and Revelation.
• The C will join our team to help review the New Testament and to help with evangelism.
• That all of these folks, one will be able to work with us at least one day per week – as our language tutor (so that we can learn the language better.) – BBTI Graduates

PRAYER REQUESTS:

• Insight into Isaiah – that as we continue this study, the Lord would grant us clarity and wisdom to understand His prophetic plan for Israel and the church.
• The “Word of Color” Ministry – for the coloring books, the new storybook, and the videos, that they would reach families and help them hid the Word in their hearts.
• A Hunger for Truth – That the Lord would continue to bring people to our doors who have a sincere desire to study the Bible deeply and grow in their walk.
• Unity and Strength- For our church family to remain a light on a hill, serving Him with grace and songs of praise. – JNK

HUGE ANSWER TO PRAYER

Recently a group dropped in who had heard of our ministry and wanted to see what was happening. They put on some fun activities for the kids and wanted to hear what our dreams and goals were for the ministry. We shared with them how we’d love to enclose the yard space in the front to make more space to use for the workshop. They shared with us they are businessmen who all have businesses both in the US and here, and they’ve committed to giving the profits from their businesses that are here to invest in our ministry. The next day they covered all the expenses to start the building project and want to help until it’s finished. We thank God for this answer to prayer, and we are excited to start building! We see the hand of God in directing us to use the space here and letting the young men be a part of building their own shop. – EBS

THE GOSPEL IN CULTURE

Living in a secularized Christian culture has me thinking about how culture plays out alongside the Gospel message. Our country has had some form of Christianity for over 1,000 years. That means for close to 85% of its history, it has had a large Christian influence play a role in the shaping of its culture. The language is largely shaped by Christian verbiage, while the national history seems delineated by the date of national “conversion” to Christianity. Holidays are almost explicitly Christian. Despite all of this, most people are largely non-religious in practice (although many claim the term Christian). Statistically 0.0% of those under age 25 believe that God created the world – zero percent.

Culture is no substitute for faith. I am a firm believer in the benefits of a Christian culture, but a Christian culture cannot exist outside of Christianity. Christian culture lacking true Christian faith, becomes a shell of worthless rituals deprived of any meaning. The clear Gospel message of Jesus must be preached with the culture here. It will pierce through the millennium of appropriation and syncretism to shine the Light on the true need. Pray that the Gospel will go forth throughout the area. – NRS
