Today, we welcomed Maryland Department of Transportation Secretary Katie Thomson to campus for a tour of Bowie State University and the Bowie State MARC Station.
The visit offered a firsthand look at how the Bowie State MARC Joint Development Project could benefit students, commuters and the broader community by improving access to transit, creating new housing opportunities and supporting future growth in Prince George’s County. The project reflects a shared commitment to creating a more connected, sustainable and opportunity-rich future for our students and surrounding communities.
We appreciate Governor Wes Moore and Secretary Thomson’s leadership and continued support of initiatives that connect education, transportation and economic development. 💛🖤

Elijah Jordan came to Bowie State on a football opportunity — and left with a purpose far greater than the game. 🎓
Graduating with a B.S. in Health Services Administration, Elijah served as Vice President of the Alpha Chi Honor Society and as a Resident Assistant, building community and supporting students through their academic and personal journeys.
He took that same drive back to his hometown of New York City, gaining hands-on experience as a federal policy research analyst with WE ACT for Environmental Justice in Harlem, tracking environmental disparities in urban communities.
After graduation, Elijah plans to enlist in the U.S. Air Force, where he will continue his career in health services administration.
From the Bronx to the Air Force — Bulldogs go everywhere. Congratulations, Elijah. 🖤💛
