Bowie State University President Dr. Aminta H. Breaux joined Prince George’s County Council Member Edward Burroughs III , District 8, to announce $360,000 in scholarship funds from the Prince George’s County Council to support Bowie State students from District 8.

The funding will help address unmet financial need and outstanding balances that have prevented some students from registering for classes, continuing their studies or completing their degrees.

We thank Councilmember Burroughs and the County Council for partnering with Bowie State to help remove financial barriers and support student success.

As we reflect on 9/11 Day of Service, the Bowie State community came together to honor those we lost while supporting the first responders who continue to serve our communities.

Bowie State hosted Governor Wes Moore and nearly 700 Maryland Corps members for the launch of Class 4 of the Maryland Corps/Service Year Option. 💛🖤

Held as part of 9/11 Day, a national day of service and remembrance, the event brought together a new generation of Marylanders committed to serving communities across the state.
