The Patuxent Program

The first Acton Academy joint Field Day was a big success. A great day at Greenbelt Park! Learners from 3 local Actons planned and carried out the day. Is your child ready to experience learning by doing?! Project management and collaboration were just two of the real life skills developed on this venture!

Learners chose water balloon toss, egg on a spoon race, sponge dodgeball, regular dodgeball, capture the flag, and lots of free time unstructured play!

Thank you to Spartek Academy, an Acton Acadmey and Acton Academy Falls Church for celebrating the first of many learner designed Field Days!

We are excited to announce that we will be hosting our third Acton Children's Business Fair in Bowie, MD, on Sunday, May 7th during the 1:05 Bowie Baysox Game!

Each child vendor will receive a ticket for entry along with one additional ticket for (1) parent.

Does your child, ages 6-14, love to create and sell things? If so, The Children's Business Fair (CBF) is the place for them! Create a lifelong memory at our one-day event. The cost is $15 per business. Each vendor will receive one 6 or 8 foot table and a personal swag bag to support their venture!

Giving pause to honor the life of this hero.

Our culture & society moves quickly but his memory remains as an incredibly compassionate and caring man. He devoted his life to fighting for rights and equality.

Despite immense adversity, including physical violence and death threats, he never wavered.

His legacy lives on and inspires all to never cease the fight against injustice. Not just a symbol or a holiday, he was a husband, father and leader. A true hero.
