Just spoke with Bowie Emergency Management Coordinator and the chance of rain at 7:00-9:00 p.m. tonight has been take out of the forecast; therefore, the 2026 High School Graduation will be at the BHS Football Field. Graduation will begin at 8:00 p.m.

Bowie ISD is continuing to consult with the Bowie Emergency Management Coordinator for tomorrow's graduation. At this time, the chance of rain has decreased from 68% to 19% during the graduation time period for tomorrow, May 22. We will revaluate weather conditions and the status of graduation location when the forecast is updated at noon tomorrow. We will notify students and families at 12:30 the final decision.

After consulting with the the City of Bowie Emergency Management Coordinator about the forecast for tomorrow night, it has been decided to move graduation into the Bowie High School gym. The National Weather Service is predicting 68% of rain with a marginal risk for severe storms tomorrow evening. Each senior will have 8 tickets for gym seating. The ceremony will be streamed in the cafeteria for any guests that do not have a ticket. Doors to the gym will be open at 7:15 for the 8:00 ceremony. Please understand that much thought was put into this decision taking into consideration how this effects so many friends and family along with the necessary preparation for graduation.

BISD will make a decision on Thursday, May 21, at 9:00 a.m. about the location of HS graduation. If the forecast is predicting rain during the time of graduation, the ceremony will be moved inside the high school gym. Each senior will be given 8 tickets for gym seating Thursday morning at senior breakfast. Any friends or family that do not have a ticket to sit in the gym will be able to watch the live streamed graduation inside the cafeteria. Again a decision will be made Thursday morning.
