14th International Traditional Sports & Games Conference Successfully Concluded

We are proud to announce that the 14th International Traditional Sports and Games (TSG) Conference has been successfully held, bringing together institutions and experts from around the world.

This year’s conference welcomed over 80 scholars, each contributing valuable research and insights to the global field of traditional sports and games.

One of the highlights of the event was the inspiring keynote address delivered by Prof. LaVega, President of the European Traditional Sports and Games Association. His speech emphasized the importance of integrating traditional sports and games into school curricula and strengthening international collaboration to preserve and promote TSG heritage.

The conference opened with warm remarks from Prof. Turkmen, President of the Conference Organizing Committee, who extended his appreciation to all participants, partners, and supporting institutions for their dedication and contributions.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to every scholar, presenter, and collaborator who helped make this year’s conference a meaningful and impactful gathering. Together, we continue to advance the global recognition, sustainability, and intercultural value of traditional sports and games.

World champion horseback archer Enis Yurdakök, a symbol of Turkish national pride, visited our university and delivered a special seminar on traditional Turkish archery—one of the most significant cultural heritages in Turkish history.

We were honored to host such a distinguished master and champion, especially following his participation in an international competition in the United States.

Through this seminar, our American students not only gained insight into Turkish culture and the rich history of traditional Turkish sports, but also had the unique opportunity to experience Turkish archery firsthand.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Enis Yurdakök for his invaluable contributions to the promotion of traditional Turkish sports worldwide.

We are so excited to announce that our third book “From Past to Present: Applications of Traditional Archery in the World” has been published by one of worldwide, well-known Social Science Publishers in the USA, “Nova Science Publishers”
