This month at LeVasseur, we are focusing on RESPECT! We’re talking with students about what respect looks like, sounds like, and feels like in our classrooms, on the playground, in the cafeteria, and throughout our school.

Through books like The Bad Seed and other meaningful stories, students are exploring questions such as:

💛 What does it mean to treat others with respect?
💛 How can our words and actions show respect?

🏠 Keep the Conversation Going at Home!
Families can help reinforce our conversations by asking:

💛 What did you do today that showed respect?
💛 What does respect look like at school? What does it look like at home?
💛 How can you show respect when you are frustrated or disagree with someone?

We’re excited to ROAR about RESPECT all month long! 🐯💛🖤

A huge thank you to our amazing PTA for their continued fundraising efforts and for helping make our school a place where students love to learn! ❤️

Our library is a space that all of our students utilize, and thanks to our PTA, we were able to spruce it up with a new rug, fun seating options, and STEM bins. Our students are absolutely loving the new additions this year!

We are so grateful for the support our PTA provides to our students and staff. Thank you for helping make our library an even more inviting and engaging space for our Tigers! 🐯📚

Character Counts at LeVasseur! 🐯

Today, we kicked off our monthly character trait presentations with September’s character trait: RESPECT!

Our students learned what respect looks like, sounds like, and feels like and how we can show respect to people, places, and things each and every day.

Take a look at the image below to get a glimpse of what students learned today! Students are also bringing home a Respect book to help continue the conversation and learning at home.

We’re also be sharing a few family friendly movie suggestions, along with some discussion questions, to help families continue the conversation about respect at home.

🎟️📚 Summer Reading Challenge Winners! 📚🎟️

Last Friday, we wrapped up our Summer Reading Challenge by raffling off some amazing prizes! Our students had a blast putting their tickets into the drawing for their favorite prizes and then watching the winners be announced during our morning announcements. 🎉

A special shout-out to Mrs. Ragan’s and Mrs. Flower’s classes for winning the ice cream party for having the highest percentage of students turn in their reading forms! 🍦

We reminded our students that even if they didn’t win a prize, they still won because they read, learned, and grew their brains!

A huge THANK YOU to our families and teachers for encouraging our students to read and helping foster a love of reading all summer long! We are so proud of our Tigers!
