A rotary phone and heartfelt messages from families during move-in have now reached millions of people across the country.

ABC World News Tonight with David Muir recently featured CMDI’s move-in video, including a special appearance by student ambassador Alexa Tovar.. Tovar, a double major in strategic communication and political science, supported the social media activation and was featured in the ABC segment. Viewers heard her reflections on her own emotions upon receiving messages from her family when she began college three years ago.

Led by CMDI social media strategist Mallory Nicholson, the project came together with Alexa, Lamar Clark, Kimberly Coffin and support from the entire CMDI team.

We look forward to finding more meaningful ways to capture the experiences that resonate with our community.

As millions of Americans families send their children back to school, the University of Colorado Boulder marked the momentous occasion with a heartwarming gesture for incoming students.

They got an inside look at how live sports coverage comes together and learned more about the work happening beyond what viewers see on screen.
