Saved by a Sense of the Sacred: Sister Dorothy Stang, Part II - Daily Meditations with Matthew Fox How do we get the sense of the sacred back once it has been lost? We have to go beyond the human, to the bigger context of creation itself, the universe itself all 13.8 billion years of it that have brought us into existence and made this moment possible. UCOMING COURSE:
This course focuses on how today’s political polarization undermines one of the most resilient traditional values among rural communities in America’s Heartland: the capacity and willingness of people in local communities to work and live together as good neighbors, who look out for each other instead of harboring suspicion of each other.
This course will probe the sources of the anger, pain and anguish of rural communities that are routinely ignored by our politicians and the mass media. It will also challenge the destructive justification of using this pain and anger in blaming, shaming, and scapegoating others. We will discuss different examples of religious anger in order to differentiate and ‘weed’ out the negative images of anger above—from the prophetic and truly biblical understanding of ‘rightful’ (‘righteous’) anger in protecting ourselves and all those who are unjustly treated.
Only when we responsibly care for our constructive anger in caring for each other, while
enjoying and learning from our differences, can we restore and heal our increasingly vulnerable communities in the spiritual transformation from enraged to engaged citizens.

The Via Creativa & Science - Daily Meditations with Matthew Fox Not only does today’s science instruct us in how creativity has been baked into the universe from the get-go 13.8 billion years ago, and not only can we say evolution is itself a story of the creativity of the universe, but science itself is a creative enterprise. Recently, in a book called Ways T...
