Emerging from the shoreline like a relic of another world, this monumental sea serpent sculpture stretches 130 meters along the coast of Saint-Brevin-les-Pins near Nantes, France. Created by artist Huang Yong Ping, the aluminum skeleton appears to rise and fall with the tides, blurring the boundary between myth, nature, and human imagination.

The work invites reflection on time, transformation, and humanity’s relationship with the natural world. Depending on the light and tide, the serpent can feel ancient, mysterious, or hauntingly contemporary, reminding viewers how art can reshape an entire landscape into an experience.
