This post is for all of you focused on the primary task of jewelry making (along with the added workload of running a small business to sell that jewelry) and absolutely losing it because all your photos aren’t looking right…yeah we get it! Straight out of the camera ours don’t look right either. 🫣🫢😮‍💨

Yes, clean jewelry photography looks effortless... but anyone who has tried to shoot polished gems and different metal together knows…it’s a psychological thriller.

The same light that makes silver and some gems shine will make gold and other stones dull and lifeless.

Speaking of light, it’s always a challenge to have it bright enough to highlight jewelry but diffused so it’s not bouncing off in every direction. And guess what? Natural light coming in from a window is fighting with overhead fluorescent tube lights that are in a knockdown dragout with LED individual station lamps.

We spend time editing in Lightroom, but what do you think…do you like edited or RAW better?
