Collette DiVitto wanted to be independent, so she started her own cookie business! Her goal was “Creating more jobs for people who are disabled,” she says. “That’s my whole mission.” And she has done just that--hired 15 people with disabilities and trains them one-on-one. We could all take a page from her lesson book.
This 31-year-old woman with Down syndrome launched a cookie company 5 years ago — and has already made over $1.2 million Collette DiVitto, who was born with Down syndrome, founded Collettey's Cookies in 2016. Now, she hires people with disabilities and teaches entrepreneurship workshops.
