We had a great time in Colorado Springs for the 2022 CMEA Conference! Here are some pics of our members exploring, learning, and having a fun time. Looking forward to the 2023 Conference already!

Hello CU NAfME Community! We hope you are all doing well.

Due to recent events, we felt that it was important that we use our platform as educators to advocate for social justice, especially for the BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) communities. The murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and countless other Black and minority Americans have asked communities across the nation to respond to systemic racism, bigotry, and oppression. In conjunction with a pledge to stand with the Black Lives Matter movement, we would also like to share with you our action plan moving forward as an organization.

Our first goal is to provide resources for pre-service teachers to carry anti-racist and culturally informed messages forward in their classrooms. The students we teach will one day become the voting body, and we need to make sure we are providing them with comprehensive information helping them become informed individuals capable of making their own decisions. We will reach out to professionals who are willing to come and present on their topic of expertise, as well as do our own research related to diversity to better educate pre-service teachers.

Ultimately, our hope is that this will be a step in the right direction towards more equitable and inclusive classrooms.

UPDATE: Hello all! Quick update, there was a small clerical error on the Broadmoor’s part with room reservations. We are currently working with our liaison to get this sorted out. Emails will be sent out soon with more information

CMEA MEETING: January 15th, 4:30pm in C125

If you plan on going to CMEA, this event is for you! This meeting is a chance to ask any questions or bring up any concerns you might have about the trip, as well as to go over the itinerary for driving down to Colorado Springs.
