Join Science Across America Cohort 2: Free Resources and No Requirements!
As America celebrates its 250-year anniversary, HHMI Tangled Bank Studios and STAR Net have launched a new campaign to help libraries highlight the history of scientific achievement in our country, and the local connections to science in our communities. SCIENCE ACROSS AMERICA, the newest campaign from Spark of Science@ My Library, invites libraries to showcase local scientific advances and scientists, engage your communities with focused Community Dialogues, and host educational and inspirational activities that shine a light on the past, present, and future of science in our lives. 115 Partner Libraries have already been chosen for this project, but we’re now opening applications for cohort 2, who will receive free resources, with only optional reporting requirements! Libraries that register for cohort 2 will receive a Science Across America map for their state or territory, project logo stickers, and sticky notes to facilitate patrons adding their own “moments in science” to your state/territories map and other resources listed in the following blog post:

Library Collaborations to Engage Local Public Audiences
Libraries are wonderful venues for reaching new audiences, as they are community hubs that are free and open to all. During this online workshop we will learn all about the Space Science Institute's (SSI) NASA @ My Library program and the STAR (Science-Technology Activities and Resources) Library Network (STAR net) and how museums can partner with libraries from across the US to strengthen their community engagement. The workshop will include resources and approaches to building relationships with libraries in your community. We will also hear first hand from libraries and museums who have had successful partnerships using these materials and strategies to deepen community engagement.

Comets, Clues, and Our Cosmic Story, Do NASA Science LIVE!
Help NASA-supported scientists find active comets to find clues about our early universe.
All you need is curiosity.
Featured Project: Rubin Comet Catchers (SciStarter.org/rubin-comet-catchers)
During this virtual event, you'll look through real images from the Vera C. Rubin Observatory to find comets and other active objects in our solar system. Each comet you spot offers valuable clues about how planetary systems form and evolve, and the possible origins of Earth’s water.
Hear from the project scientist, ask questions, and discover how your participation supports important research AND counts towards a goal of 2.50 Million Acts of Science this April (Citizen Science Month!).
