๐ŸŽ‰ APPLICATIONS are OPEN for the 36th cohort of the Climate and Global Change (C&GC) Postdoctoral Fellowship Program!

This two-year fellowship is for early-career PhDs ready to help lead the next wave of climate and global change science. Fellows are paired with a mentoring scientist at a U.S. university, research institution, or federal agency to pursue research at the intersection of Earth system science, energy, decarbonization, and the human dimensions of a changing climate.

We're looking for applicants across the full spectrum of disciplines โ€” from physical and biogeochemical sciences to social and integrated sciences โ€” whose work advances our understanding of climate variability and change, strengthens Earth system modeling, or explores how communities and institutions navigate low-carbon, climate-resilient futures. Interdisciplinary applications are welcome.

Fellows join as UCAR employees with a fixed annual salary, full benefits, and support for relocation, travel, and publications. If you're finishing a PhD and want to spend the next two years doing research that matters, at the institution of your choice, working alongside a mentor in your field โ€” we'd love to see your application!

โ˜€๏ธ ๐Ÿ“– Congratulations to our NASA Jack Eddy Postdoctoral Fellowship Alum, Robert Jarolim, and his new publication on "SuNeRF-CME: Physics-informed Neural Radiance Fields for Tomographic Reconstruction of Coronal Mass Ejections." This paper reconstructs phenomena from hybrid sparse observations and uses physics-informed methods to complete a model that then enables accurate forecasting, counterfactuals, and reasoning.
