Today, May 27, and again on May 29, we pause to honor and remember Los Seis de Boulder, six Chicano activists and students whose lives were tragically lost in 1974. Their legacy continues to call us toward educational justice, community voice, and collective remembrance. 🖤

We encourage our community to take time to learn, reflect, and remember their stories and the lasting impact of their activism.

We invite you to:

• Browse through the primary sources at the Chicano and Latino History website and use them in your history lessons: https://latinohistoryproject.org/?s=los+seis

• Read and learn from the Freedom Archives: https://freedomarchives.org/projects/los-seis-commemoration/

• Listen to “El Corrido de Los Seis de Boulder” and legacy of Los Seis: https://latinohistoryproject.org/teachers/primarysource/los-seis-de-boulder/

• Watch Symbols of Resistance to commemorate many of the important martyrs of the Chicano Movement: https://video.alexanderstreet.com/watch/symbols-of-resistance-a-tribute-to-the-martyrs-of-the-chican-movement

• Attend the Los Seis de Boulder and The Symbols of Resistance 52 Year Commemoration on Sunday May 31, 2026 at CU Boulder’s Temporary Building 1 from 11:30-5:00 pm organized by UMAS y Mecha.

May we continue to honor their legacy through community, education, remembrance, and action.
