50 years of BUENO means remembering the people and movements that made change possible.

BUENO's history is rooted in advocacy and in the belief that students and communities deserve access, opportunity, belonging, and a voice in education.

As we celebrate our 50th anniversary, we honor the legacy of Los Seis de Boulder and continue investing in the next generation through the Los Seis Memorial Scholarship. Their legacy reminds us that progress happens because people organize, advocate, open doors, and make sure others can walk through them.

Today, May 27, and again on May 29, we pause to honor and remember Los Seis de Boulder, six Chicano activists and students whose lives were tragically lost in 1974. Their legacy continues to call us toward educational justice, community voice, and collective remembrance. 🖤

We encourage our community to take time to learn, reflect, and remember their stories and the lasting impact of their activism.
