Big things are happening at DSST: Montview and DSST: Conservatory Green. 💙

Our seniors just got some exciting news — they're officially part of a gifted savings program that puts real money and real investing experience in their hands. Throughout the year, they'll take microclasses on investing and watch their own money grow. Then, when they graduate and turn 18, they walk away with $1,000.

This is what preparing students for the 21st century actually looks like. Not just college admission — but the financial knowledge and savings to thrive once they get there.

Sami Yohannes and Caleb Woldemichael were featured in a recent University of Colorado Boulder story highlighting their journey from students to startup founders.

🦬 As current CU Boulder juniors, the pair co-founded an AI-powered engineering startup that's helping firms streamline complex workflows, all while pursuing degrees in computer science and mechanical engineering.

❤️ Beyond building their business, Sami and Caleb are paying it forward by mentoring current Campos Foundation scholars from DSST and supporting future STEM opportunities for students.

Gift cards, green Jolly Ranchers, and free books — our Montview students showed up, connected, and walked away with the wins to prove it. 💙
From the Passport Challenge (yes, that means actually talking to teachers AND community partners 👀) to guessing exactly how many Jolly Ranchers were in the jar — shoutout to whoever got closest to 333, we see you 🟢 — every moment was built around one thing: community.

And that green jar? It wasn't random. We're celebrating our GREEN rating on the School Performance Framework, because Montview is out here proving what's possible. 🏆

Popcorn in hand, passport in the other, and a climbing wall to conquer. 🍿🧗
That was the vibe at DSST: Montview's Back to School Night — A Knight of Connections. Families packed the building, explored local food trucks, tackled the climbing wall, and stamped their way through the passport challenge. For one night, our school felt less like a school and more like a fair — the best kind of first impression for a new year.
This is what a 6th–12th grade community looks like when it comes together. From the newest sixth graders finding their people to families reconnecting with teachers who genuinely know their students — this is the DSST Montview family, and we're just getting started. 💙
