Yay! All back in one place after a busy August. Thanks to for making Kennett's Tucson arrival a bit more special. Customized perfectly down to the books in the right hand corner as Kennett gets back into the writing groove. -🏜️A

Degloved: Every Scar has a Story 12/14/2020

If you are looking for a book to pick up over the winter holidays or a gift for someone else in your life, may I recommend DEGLOVED. It is a book for everyone. The most recent review I have gotten included the following, " I don’t ride bikes, run or exercise. However, I am a recovering alcoholic who has suffered from long-term depression and recently discovered that I also have chronic anxiety. I ordered your book... It touched me to the core. I literally cried as I read it, feeling like I identified so much with Kennett as he sat with you in the hospital. I applaud your courage in sharing your story!"

Our family is very excited by the new DRINK MIX 320 CAF 100 LAUNCH. We love Maurten for days on the bike, track workouts, and long trail FKT attempts.

With this new caffeinated drink mix, it is time for us to start planning new goals. Any suggestions for safe, small events or solitary adventures during the pandemic that are near Arizona or Colorado? @ Boulder, Colorado

If you are friends with Kennett and I on Instagram for the motivating triathlon photos or to see what kickass athletic feat Kennett is up to, stick around. We promise so much more of that. However, for the month of October the focus will be more on me. Why? Well, six years ago this upcoming month I was hit by a red Fiat during a training ride and I’ve since written a memoir called DEGLOVED: Every Scar Has a Story, which is available for pre-order on Amazon and comes out October 18th.

It talks in part about how trauma does not always line up with what is visible to the eye. Often the emotional wounds take longer to heal and require a supportive community.

The book is a raw look at what recovery means. For instance, this beautiful photo taken by .photography - it reminds me about going to the eye doctor post crash when he told me my eyes weren’t aligned. All that said, the first words I remember hearing post crash were “Her face is peeled off”, so isn’t it amazing how our bodies, with the skilled hands of surgeons, can heal!

Stay tuned for upcoming videos where I discuss each chapter. In the meantime, go pre-order your copy and one for a friend. -🥰A

“When it comes to suffering, I believe that too much attention is paid to physical wounds and that we often fail to acknowledge the emotional trauma that lays underneath. . .”

After doing an interview to promote the book this morning, my website went live. It’s an exciting day!

Head over to my new website www.adelaideperr.com to see more. Thanks to for the amazing design, .photography for the photos, and for a great book cover and working hard to get the book published by October 18th!

Be the Beast began with a small bike race in February of 2014 called Gebhardt Automotive Cycling Classic. Ever wonder why the race didn't come back in 2015? I answer that question and many more in my book, Degloved, which will be released mid-October. In the meantime, if you raced Gebhardt Automotive Cycling Classic let me know in the comments! (I probably still have your waiver in my garage) - ❤️A
