The ones behind it all! This program would not be what it is without Dr. Duffy’s and Dr. Swanson’s wisdom, intentionality, and dedication to their craft. We’re so lucky to have them both!!

Also….have you ever seen a more dynamic duo?? Our guess is probably not 😉☺️

This week the CU Choir Buffs will be featuring our graduates! First up is Blake Clawson! He is completing a Master of Music in Composition and Choral Conducting and for his future plans he will be Teaching Upper School Choir and Music at Ascent Classical Academy of Northern Denver! Congrats Blake! We are so grateful for your time at CU and wish you the best going forward!

Next Wednesday!!! April 22, @ 7:30 pm, Grusin!
Three of CU Boulder’s choral ensembles will perform an eclectic bouquet of musical selections featuring all five of the College of Music’s graduate choral conducting students at the podium as well as Director of Choral Activities Coreen Duffy. Selections range from the Renaissance to the contemporary’s coming from Argentina, Brazil, Italy, France, Austria, England and the United States. All three choirs will perform André Thomas’ setting of “If I Can Help Somebody,” capping off an exciting year of choral music with the theme of supporting one another.

This event features graduate student conductors Blake Clawson, Mason McCool, Emily Peterson, Wyatt Smith, Zachariah Smith; and Director of Choral Activities, Coreen Duffy.

Presented for free in-person and livestreamed by the CU Boulder College of Music!

Join CU Chamber Singers in concert with The Seicento Baroque Ensemble and Monarch High School Madrigals for an evening of “Bach and Beyond”! This collaborative CU Presents performance will be held Sunday, April 12, at 7:30 pm in Macky Auditorium! We can’t wait to share this exciting program with you! The concert is FREE & Open to the Public!!!

From our Special Performance/Interest session, “Sh’ma: Global Jewish Choral Music”, curated by the incredible leadership of Dr. Coreen Duffy, to our graduate students presenting on “Fostering Choral Composition” (congrats to MM student Blake Clawson and CU Alum Joshua Carter Maynard,) and “Imposter Phenomenon, Musical Excellence, & Mentorship” (congrats to DMA student Emily Peterson)! And finally culminating in the birthday of Dr. Duffy! We had such an incredible experience at SWACDA and are so thankful for the hard work all of the presenters and those who worked tirelessly to make it happen!!!

LISTEN UP! If you attended Holiday Festival and enjoyed the dancing you need to make it a priority to come to the Spring Festival of Choirs! Our dancers will be featured in not one but TWO pieces! PLUS there might be some extra special staging happening! But we can’t give it all away! Come join us THIS Sunday, February 22 in Macky Auditorium at 7:30pm! Doors open at 7!

Chamber Singers are a busy bunch! Several members perform with the Seicento Baroque Ensemble under the direction of Dr. Coreen Duffy. They will be featured at the upcoming concert on February 22, and will be performing their set titled: “Sh’ma: Global Jewish Music.” You won’t want to miss their stunning performance!
