Meet Dr. Angie at our 50th Gala on Saturday, April 25 at Upper Larimer! Buy your tickets today at https://www.cwef.org/about-us/upcomingevents
CWEF is equally thrilled to welcome Dr. Angie Paccione as its newest Board Member — a leader whose life's work is to activate potential — the potential for greatness that exists in every single person. She lives by a credo that could have been written for CWEF itself: "I am as committed to your success, as I am to my own."
Most recently, Dr. Paccione served in the Governor's Cabinet as Executive Director of the Colorado Department of Higher Education, appointed by Governor Jared Polis in 2019. During her tenure, she played a pivotal role in shaping statewide higher education policy, expanding access, improving affordability, and closing equity gaps for students across Colorado — the same students CWEF has championed for 50 years.
A recipient of the 2026 9News Public Sector Leader of the Year Award, Dr. Paccione brings an unmatched blend of public leadership, education expertise, and organizational transformation to the CWEF Board.
“I’m excited about the potential that exists with CWEF as it continues to serve women for an additional 50 years!” — Dr. Angie Paccione, Incoming Trustee, CWEF

This is not an April Fool's Prank—Enter the time machine with us and go retro!
To honor five decades of impact, we’re taking a trip back to where it all began: the 1970s. Whether you’re a disco diva or a boho dreamer, our upcoming gala is the perfect excuse to embrace your most groovy self. We want to see the room filled with the vibrant energy and iconic styles that defined an era of change and celebration.
Think bold, bright, and full of flower power! For a classic "flower child" vibe, you can’t go wrong with flowy maxi dresses, crochet textures, or those legendary high-waisted bell bottoms paired with a paisley blouse. If you prefer a bit of rock-and-roll edge, reach for some fringe vests, suede jackets, or corduroy separates to capture that effortless vintage cool.
For those who want to own the dance floor, it’s time to dial up the glamour with some disco-inspired glitz. Shimmering sequin jumpsuits, satin wrap dresses, and towering platform heels will ensure you’re catching every light in the room. Top off your look with oversized tinted shades or a headband, and you’ll be ready to hustle the night away.

Meet our MC, Kennedy Cook, at our 50th Anniversary Gala on April 25th at Upper Larimer, Denver. Tickets on sale now: https://www.cwef.org/about-us/upcomingevents
Kennedy Cook is a dynamic storyteller and morning anchor/reporter with CBS Colorado, known for bringing energy, authenticity, and heart to every story she tells — even at 3 a.m.
A proud Midwesterner turned Coloradan, Kennedy loves connecting with the people who make the Mile High City so special, from the metro to the mountains and everywhere in between.
Before joining CBS Colorado Mornings, Kennedy anchored and reported in the Quad Cities, where she led coverage on education reform, community crime prevention, and powerful local features that shined a light on hometown trailblazers.
Outside the newsroom, Kennedy’s joy shines just as bright. She’s a musical theatre enthusiast, arts and culture lover, and proud dog mom to Chrome. Grounded in faith, fueled by family and friends, and forever curious, Kennedy is thrilled to call Denver home — and even more excited to keep telling the stories that move Colorado forward.
