Be Coyote Aware: Escorting
Coyote pups are emerging from their dens which can lead to territorial behaviors like "escorting." This is when a coyote follows people or animals on trail very closely to move them away from their den or pups. Once the person is out of the area the coyote will generally stop following. If you find yourself being escorted by a coyote, move out of the area quickly and calmly while facing the coyote.
