Sad to report that NanoSatellites will no longer be a class in the CUUB summer program - a direct result of funding cuts to the Space Grant program that funded the class.

It's official! The 2011 Upward Bound Nanosatellites Course is scheduled to have 22 students. A smaller class than usual is exciting! Watch out, UB Students - more engineering challenges on deck for summer 2011!!

June 10, 2010 student payloads launched at 7:10 a.m. The balloon ascended to 98,000 ft. The day was so clear, we could see it up until burst! We recovered in a corn field for the first time in 9 years.

The end of the 2nd week. Imaging systems and internal thermal systems nearly complete. Next week we'll be designing and building structures and then integration begins! We have 35 amazing students this summer.
