There’s so much I could say about Risky Play and how important it is for kids to have space to explore and take risks … AND how do we as parents, as moms hold space for that when we feel panicked?

I’ve been sitting with the question of women’s power.

What it looks like.

What we think it looks like.

And honestly… I think for many of us, we are the first women in our lineage exploring the edges of this.

Layer on generations of cultural conditioning, survival patterns, and a world that has not always known what to do with powerful women…

and it’s the wild west of becoming.

When I say:

We don’t need more empowered women.

what I mean is…

I see women rising into power while still carrying the belief that parts of their womanhood must be left behind.

That their cycles are weakness.
That their needs make them less credible.
That motherhood makes them less desirable.
That sensitivity is something to overcome.

Empowerment without wholeness can become another form of armor.

Another protection pattern.

So the question underneath is:

What kind of power are we embodying?

Where does it come from?

Is it anchored in our feminine wholeness?

Or is it a pattern that keeps us from honoring the very parts of ourselves we are here to reclaim?

Women’s power is anchored in wholeness.

The whole woman.

Her body.
Her intuition.
Her emotional depth.
Her capacity to receive, hold, transmute, and express.

Feminine power is not domination.

It is not hardness disguised as strength.

It is not disconnecting from the body to achieve.

Feminine power is wholeness.

It is the wisdom of a woman who trusts herself enough to stay present with the full range of her experience.

Because you cannot think your way into becoming.

You cannot mindset your way into embodiment.

You must meet yourself.

Again and again.

The feminine body has always been an oracle.

You can move through intensity and return.

You can release and renew.

You can become again.

The world does not need women who have simply learned how to wield power.

It needs women who have learned how to hold it.

This is the work of initiation.

Part 4 in my series on women’s experience returning to work postpartum.

In part 4 exploring the biology behind what’s happening and how it impacts our mental health, our attachment. And the cascade of stories that inform such a vulnerable time. And why women need to be held during this initiation.

One of the threads I see in motherhood all too often… our selfcare, our nourishment being last on the to-do list.

And I get it. If everything, everyone else is taken care of then I can rest. Then I can feel ok.

And I believe this is not just cultural conditioning. This is the manifestation of our hard wiring, our biology.

We feel so much.
We see so much

Our diffused awareness is a biological gift and it doesn’t turn off. Alison Armstrong Alison Armstrong talks about this, how everyone out of place is talking to us.

And it hard to relax when we are so deeply impacted by our environment. And we forget that our environment, our community, our family is so deeply impacted by us. By our state of being. By our nervous system.

Tending to our nourishment is in service of your loved ones.

And if you feel like you’ve forgotten how, you’re not alone. Motherhood not only amplifies our diffused awareness, it also completely rewires us. And it takes conscious effort to reweave our identity and choose the threads of maidenhood that are important for us to continue.

Hosting my next Motherhood & Wholeness Circle where we’ll focus on tending to our energy, our aliveness, our pleasure.

We start on Friday. DM for details

Summer Motherhood & Wholeness Circle starts soon.

A seasonal circle for women moving through motherhood, work, and the quiet stretch of trying to hold it all with love.

This isn’t about doing more.

It’s about remembering yourself inside the life you’re already living.

This summer is lighter. More spacious. A place to exhale a little.

We meet in circle, with weekly voice notes + short teachings, and ongoing group reflection and coaching in the chat.

We’ll be tending what actually matters underneath it all—
aliveness
vitality
desire
the parts of you that get buried when life gets full

We’ll also weave in Human Design + somatic wisdom—not as labels, but as ways of listening more closely to your own experience.

No fixing. No perfect version to become.

Just a return.

To your energy.
To your body.
To what’s still alive in you.

Summer Circle begins soon. 🤍

Finally sharing some of the research from last summer. I interviewed 20 women from across the globe on their postpartum experience and what it was like to return to work.

It was such a tender mission.
Tears wells on almost every call.
Even the women who had a good experience.

Sharing this as a series. Too big for one article.
From the place of illuminating a part of motherhood // womanhood that often goes unseen.

And with the intention of inviting all of us to share in the responsibility of shifting cultural narratives and systems to support women. And raising the future generations.

For the women daring to re-architect motherhood.

It can feel triggering.
Am I doing it right? Is this ok? Am I failing my child?

And when we have culture norms and systems and structure that directly contradict the female experience and our basic biological needs - you can’t play by the rules.

You have to think outside the box.
You have experiment.

And that means you are learning and adapting, and the path is not perfect.
“Mistakes” are data- they redirect.
We need to fail forward. Or we’ll never figure it out.

We are in a time of tilling the soil.

And it’s gonna be messy.
