Whole Earth Montessori School

As the school year comes to a close, we are celebrating so much more than what our students have learned. We have watched our students grow their confidence, curiosity, independence, and kindness. From new skills and discoveries to friendships and moments of perseverance, each student has made remarkable progress in their own unique way. It has been a joy to witness this growth and to share in so many meaningful moments together. We are proud of all our students and grateful for a wonderful year of learning and growth!

Grace and courtesy are woven throughout the Montessori classroom, helping children develop kindness, confidence, and respect for others. Through simple, meaningful lessons like serving tea to a guest, children practice hospitality, concentration, and the joy of caring for their community. Sometimes the smallest gestures leave the biggest impression!

Our early childhood students have been BUSY! Students have been hard at work creating maps of the continents using paint, colored pencils, and pin-pushings 🌎 Map-making helps students build a deeper connection to the world around them while developing their fine motor skills, focus, and geography knowledge.

Scales, tails, and eyes, wide with wonder! Ms. April, the Reptile Lady, returned to WEM for another unforgettable visit! From curious questions to up-close encounters, our students loved learning about these amazing creatures and the habitats they call home.

Bring your Dad to school night was so much fun! There is nothing better than seeing learning through their eyes. Students took the lead, showing off their favorite Montessori works and walking their dads through how they learn, focus, and problem-solve each day. From hands-on materials to independent projects, it was a fun, real look at what a typical day looks like.

Spring has sprung at WEM! The daffodils our students planted in the fall are blooming all across campus... a beautiful reminder that good things take time. We’re excited to kick off garden classes in our newly renovated space and dig into the season ahead!

There’s a quiet kind of focus that emerges with the Montessori metal insets. As students trace, rotate, and revisit each form, they’re refining far more than pencil control. They’re exploring pattern, symmetry, and the subtle relationship between hand and mind. What begins as a simple shape often unfolds into careful design, revealing both focus and creativity in each line.

Last Friday brought us a surprise March snow ❄️ While we didn’t expect a wintery visit so late in the season, the children were so excited! Sometimes the most memorable moments come from the unexpected.

A friend will always put your heart in the right place ❤️ In this anatomy work, students learn about their internal organs by helping one another place them where they belong on the velcro smock. Working together always turns learning into a joyful experience!
