Registration for the 2026 New England SACNAS Chapter Community Gathering is now open! The Boston College and UMass Boston SACNAS Chapters invite scientists and students from across the New England region, at all career stages and from every discipline, to join us Saturday, April 11th at Boston College in Chestnut Hill, MA.

Come connect with peers, highlight your research, explore professional development and leadership opportunities, and celebrate our scientific community together. Registration is free! Register for the gathering and submit an abstract for a poster or oral presentation. The deadline to submit an abstract for a presentation is Friday, March 13th.

Are you considering going to graduate school? Curious about what grad school is really like? Join us for SACNAS: A Chat with a Grad Student on Thursday, March 5th, from 4–5 PM in ISC 4310!

Come chat with current graduate students about their experiences. We’ll discuss:
The admissions process
Expectations and workload
Work–life balance
Research and coursework
What we wish we knew before applying
And any questions you may have!

Get feedback and time to revise your own work

Writers at all stages are welcome: bring a draft or come ready to start from scratch!

Bring your friends and join us for a fun, relaxed hour of board games, cards, snacks, and more! Feel free to play something from our collection or bring your own favorite game to share!
Kick off the semester by unwinding, meeting new people, and having some fun with the SACNAS community!

Join us for a fun hour of trivia with prizes and cultural sweets to enjoy! Bring your friends and test your knowledge across a variety of topics (science, pop culture, etc)! 🤓
This is a great chance to take a break from studying for exams, meet new people, and have some fun with the SACNAS community before the end of the semester.

We are excited to host a Resume and Cover Letter Workshop Thursday from 4:00–5:00 PM in ISC 5300! ✍️
We’ll kick off with a short presentation on how to craft an effective resume and cover letter tailored for research, internships, and professional opportunities. After that, the rest of the session will be dedicated to peer review, so please bring a printed or digital copy of your materials if you have them (drafts are totally welcome!).
This is a great chance to strengthen your application materials and get supportive feedback from fellow students.

Drop by the 4th floor of the ISC, conference room 4310 for feedback and/or support completing your TUSM - UMB Winter Enrichment Program 2026 application. We are happy to help with the clinical or Pathway to PhD application. Staff and PhD students from the UMass Boston SACNAS chapter will be available to answer your questions. Please share with anyone who would be interested!
