Boston Collegiate Charter School Boston Collegiate serves grades 5-12 and prepares each student for college.

The mission of Boston Collegiate Charter School is simple yet ambitious: to prepare each student for college. We offer an academically rigorous college preparatory curriculum for students in grades five through twelve. 100% of our graduates have been accepted to college; the majority of them will be the first in their families to complete a college degree.

Meet, greet, and eat! πŸŒπŸ”πŸ¦

Boston Colleigate hosted a cookout last week to welcome our newest families with food, face painting, and some important updates ahead of the start of school. Some of our new teachers joined us, too, including alumnus Rodney Adams!

We can't wait for our full community to be back together in just a couple weeks!

Thanks Dorchester Reporter for highlighting our amazing valedictorian, Clara! She's off to Northeastern University this fall and we can't wait to hear all about it!

Clara Long credits her academic success to persistence and the support of the school community that she has been a part of since 5th grade at Boston Collegiate Charter School.

Thank you, Education Week, for sharing 12th grade history teacher Maureen O’Hern's op-ed about using the Harvard Business School method in her high school classroom!

We are so grateful for teachers like Ms. O'Hern who go the extra mile to create the most engaging and challenging curriculum for their students!

Meet Stephen, from the Boston Collegiate Class of 2014! From West Point - The U.S. Military Academy to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England, Stephen has spent the last eight years serving our country as an Engineer Officer! πŸͺ–πŸ—οΈ Today, he is a licensed Professional Civil Engineer managing major projects in New England, and he just launched his own company, Pathfinder ADU, to help address the Massachusetts housing crisis. πŸ› οΈ

Stephen credits much of his drive to his Boston Collegiate teachers, whose commitment to excellence and high standards left a lasting impression. To current students thinking about their next steps, he shared, "If you are unsure what you want to do with your life, I highly recommend civil or military service in some form to every young person graduating high school...No matter what you choose, commit to being the best at what you do and you will have every reason to succeed."

We are so proud of Stephen's service and leadership, and love having alumni like him in the Boston Collegiate family!

πŸ›₯πŸ›Ÿ From high school to the high seas, we're rounding out our internship highlights with one of our most unique placements this year, Boston Harbor Pilots!

Will spent his two-week internship with the , an association of elite maritime captains who serve as the gatekeepers of the harbor. Using their expert knowledge of local tides, currents, and narrow channels, they safely guide the ships into port, ensuring millions of tons of goods enter and leave the city safely every day. Will was able to expand his maritime experience, board large moving vessels like cargo and cruise ships (via rope ladder!), and work closely with the U.S. Coast Guard as well as fellow pilots. 🌊🚒

Like many of his peers, Will’s internship gave him hands-on experience in a field he loves and the chance to network with professionals in his dream career. These real-world experiences are truly life-changing, shaping our students' choices in colleges, majors, and careers. A massive thank you to the Boston Harbor Pilots and all of our incredible corporate partners for opening doors and helping our students navigate their futures!

Proud teacher alert! 🚨 Last month, Ms. Boyd's student, Natalie, won Honorable Mention at the West Roxbury Branch of the Boston Public Library poetry contest, and we couldn't be more proud!

Natalie's mom thanked Ms. Boyd for encouraging Natalie’s love of reading and writing, and for going the extra mile to show up and support Natalie's award. She said "Seeing Ms. Boyd at the event meant so much to Natalie. At this age, having support from teachers truly makes a difference." πŸ’•

We love seeing out students discover new passions and step outside their comfort zones, thanks to Boston Collegiate teachers like Ms. Boyd!

The 5th grade history students had a very special visitor this morning! βš–

Thank you, Representative Stephen F. Lynch for taking time out of your busy schedule to speak with students about your background, your path to public service, and your experience serving in Congress. And, for hearing them out about lowering the voting age someday! πŸ—³

Whether they're interested in πŸ”¬πŸ§ͺ🧬 science or πŸ’‰πŸ₯ΌπŸ₯ healthcare, 11th grade internships help students hone in on the specific kind of career they're interested in within a larger field. Students start by saying "I want to go into medicine" and leave their internship having stood in ORs, helped take vitals, processed genetic samples, and run CAT scans for incoming emergency patients.

As one student said, "this internship strengthened my interest in healthcare and helped me figure out what specific modality I wanted to do." Thank you to our medical host sites for helping students enter their senior year with hands-on experience and a clear vision for their futures!
