The Center for Effective Philanthropy (CEP)’s 2026 State of Nonprofits report is here, and the findings are striking:
📉 Funding is tight: Nearly 60% of nonprofit CEOs say securing foundation grants is harder, and 40% report reduced funding.
⬆️ Demand is up: Almost three-quarters of CEOs report increased demand for services.
🔥 Burnout is surging: The proportion of nonprofit CEOs concerned about their own burnout jumped to 46% in 2026, up from just under 30% in 2025.
We recently hosted a candid conversation with CEP leadership and our funding partners on how can best show up in this critical moment. At INP, we see firsthand how today’s pressures are impacting the sector and its workforce, and our work is directly focused on reversing these trends.
